Senior citizens oppose ‘3am garba’

Ulhasnagar: The senior citizens from the upscale Monarch Solitaire were having sleepless nights because of the Garba that goes on till 3 am in the adjoining hall in their neighbourhood complex in Ulhasnagar. The residents alleged that they complained to the local police, but when no action was taken, they took to X to voice their concerns resulting Thane police now has assured action.

Residents from Monarch Solitaire allege that despite the govt recently allowing Garba till 12 midnight in Thane District, loud music is being played in the hall of the commercial building next to them till around 2 to 3 am, which is disturbing their sleep.
Manohar Ramchandani, a resident of the complex, wrote on X stating, "Government has given sufficient time till 12 midnight for playing Garba. Despite this, in our neighbourhood in Ulhasnagar, loudspeakers are being played at a high volume till 3 am for the last 6 days in Sky Dome Hall, troubling senior citizens. We request @ThaneCityPolice to act against the organiser."
Another resident, Kimatram Lassi, who also lives in the same building, said that not only are we senior citizens affected, but also the children studying in school, whose exams are going on, are having trouble sleeping, and their studies are getting affected due to the loudspeaker playing for a long time.
Residents said that earlier they had complained to the local police and the control room, but no action was taken by the police.
After residents raised the issue on X, Thane Police has assured action in this matter.
