Ranchi: Road restoration work by Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO) is underway in various stretches across the state capital which were affected by the installation of water pipelines. The work started last week.
The pipeline project, which started nearly a year ago, aimed to enhance Ranchi's water supply network. As the pipeline work has been completed, road restoration efforts have begun on top priority.
The work is underway in stretches from Birsa Chowk to Debri bridge, Birsa Chowk to Hinoo, and Circuit House to Lalpur, where extensive pipeline work had taken place.
“The water pipeline project was a major step towards ensuring a and reliable water supply for the city. We understand that the construction caused inconvenience to residents, and we are committed to completing the road restoration as quickly as possible. The work has been expedited amid Durga Puja festivities to ensure smooth travel for the public during the festival,” said JUIDCO PRO Ashutosh Singh.
Residents, who had been coping with uneven and damaged roads for months, expressed their relief at the ongoing restoration.
“The pipeline work was necessary, but the damaged roads made daily commuting difficult. I'm glad they're fixing the roads now,” said Meena Das, a resident of Hinu. “The roads were in bad shape for months, and it was difficult to commute, especially during rainfall. It's a relief that the restoration is happening now,” said Neha Sharma, a resident of Lalpur.
