Petrol pump operator accuses 3 brothers of extortion
Rajkot: A 30-year-old petrol pump owner, Krushit Patel, filed a complaint of extortion at Morbi City B Division police station against three brothers — Jaydev, Mayur and Radhesh Buddhbhatti — who claim to be journalists.
The complainant alleged that on Aug 5, Jaydev had an argument with Patel over the payment for diesel at his Nayara petrol pump and recorded a video on his phone.

Mayur allegedly verbally abused Patel, while Radhesh extorted Rs 3,000 from him under the pretense of issuing and renewing a media ID card in his name from a ‘Divya Drishti Media Group', which is run by the brothers.
Patel stated that in 2013, Radhesh had approached him, offering to issue a media ID card for Rs 4,000 so that Patel could "avoid trouble". In 2014, Radhesh took another Rs 3,000 for its renewal but never provided the card. Despite Radhesh's repeated attempts to persuade Patel to renew the card, Patel declined, saying he had no interest in it.
The complaint alleges that on the evening of Aug 5, Jaydev falsely accused Patel of not accepting digital payments and started an argument while recording a video at the petrol pump.
Mayur joined in and Radhesh said that if Patel paid for his card renewal, they would delete the video. When Patel refused, Jaydev threatened him and filed a police complaint against Patel for not accepting digital payments, and posted the video on social media. On Sep 4, Radhesh visited the petrol pump and demanded Rs 50,000 from Patel's father and partner to delete the video and "settle the complaint".
