Hyderabad: Former minister G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday challenged deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to come for an open debate on Musi encroachments and pollution.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, he alleged that the state govt lacked clarity on the project.
The ex-minister said the Congress govt has put the cost of Musi riverfront project at Rs 1.50 lakh crore without any detailed project reports (DPRs) or deliberations whereas the BRS govt's earlier plan for Musi rejuvenation cost only Rs 16,000 crore.
He said the Congress govt had escalated the project cost.
Jagadish Reddy also claimed that demolitions in the last few months had dented Hyderabad's brand image while pointing out that encroachments on Musi riverbed and Hussainsagar pollution happened in united AP and not during BRS govt tenure.
He also said that then CM K Chandrasekhar Rao resolved the fluorosis problem in Nalgonda by providing Krishna water.
