Murder convict on parole caught with 6kg ganja
Nagpur: A 38-year-old murder convict, identified as Siddharth Dhamgaye, was on 45-day parole when he was found with around 6kg ganja in his possession. This discovery occurred during an early morning raid by New and Old Kamptee police station squads on Tuesday at Kumbhar Colony in Kamptee.
Dhamgaye was also booked for molestation about a week ago after a complaint from a woman whom he was harassing on the road.

Sources said Dhamgaye had been engaged in various nefarious activities since his release from jail around a month ago.
Dhamgaye, convicted in a murder case in 2012, stayed with his girlfriend Nikki, who was also made co-accused in the case. He was supposed to return to jail on October 14.
Apart from Nikki, the police also booked Salman and Mohit for their involvement in the racket. These three are yet to be nabbed. The cops said that the racket supplied ganja to Kamptee and adjoining places. The identity of the gang's supplier is still not clear. The cops believed Nikki, the mastermind of the racket, was likely attached to some interstate racket based in either Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, or Telangana.
Sources said that senior inspectors of New Kamptee police station, Pramod Pore, and Old Kamptee counterpart, Prashant Jhumde, formed squads to raid Dhamgaye's residence, where he was caught red-handed with the ganja. Police said he was staying with his girlfriend, Nikki, but she was not at home.
Assistant police inspector Sachin Yadav of New Kamptee police station, who was also part of the investigation team, stated that teams had been formed to nab the rest of the accused. Zonal DCP Niketan Kadam supervised the investigation to unearth the downward and upward links involved with the narcotics dealers.
