Hundreds of people take part in yoga climb, Durga Namaskar
Mysuru: Hundreds of people took part in a yoga climb and Durga namaskar organised as part of Dasara celebrations by the Yoga Dasara Subcommittee held at the Chamundi foothills on Wednesday.
As part of the yoga climb, participants climbed the 1,000 steps to Chamundi Hills starting from 6am and performed Durga Namaskar, worshipping Goddess Chamundeshwari, the presiding deity of Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop the hills.

People of various ages took part in the event. Women and children were also part of the event. Apart from these, the yoga enthusiasts also performed various yoga asanas like Surya Namaskar, Vajrasana, Svanasana, Trikonasana, Siddhasana, Shavasana, and other exercises on the occasion.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Yoga Dasara Subcommittee chairman M Mahesh said that the committee organised various yoga events, including yoga competitions, a yoga chain for democracy, and other events as part of the Yoga Dasara celebrations from Oct 3. It would culminate with the performance of a yoga dance at Banni Mantap grounds on Oct 12.
He said that Yoga Dasara received a good response with the participation of people from various backgrounds, students, and yoga enthusiasts.
Yoga Dasara subcommittee special officer K Ramya, working president Anantharaju, secretary Pushpa, Chamundi Hill gram panchayat President Nagamma, and vice-president Ravikumar YS were present.
