NEW DELHI:
Uttar Pradesh minister Sanjay Nishad narrowly avoided a serious
accident when his car collided with an escort vehicle in the Salon Kotwali area on Wednesday.
The incident took place near Karahiya Bazaar as Nishad was traveling from Lucknow to Pratapgarh via Raebareli.
Officials reported that the crash occurred because the driver of the escort vehicle in Nishad's convoy applied sudden brakes, causing the minister's car to hit the escort vehicle.
Though the front portion of Nishad's vehicle was damaged, no injuries were reported.
Local police quickly responded to the scene after receiving information about the collision. Police Circle Officer (Salon) Pradeep Kumar stated, "The vehicles collided with each other but everyone is safe."
