Will persuade Mahayuti aspirants not to rebel: Min
Mumbai: Mahayuti will work to limit rebellion and try to ensure there are no rebel candidates, said Shambhuraj Desai, member of the alliance's coordination committee.
Addressing a joint press conference with BJP's Prasad Lad and NCP's Shivajirao Garje on Wednesday, Desai said Mahayuti has formed coordination committees in each of the 288 assembly constituencies.

"Before announcing a candidate, the others in the fray from the alliance parties will be called and persuaded not to rebel. We are confident of quelling all rebellion before the candidate is announced," he said.
Desai, however, refused to reveal how many seats each of the parties have laid claim to, stating that all final decisions will be taken by the party leaders. "The election code of conduct is to be announced. We have done our homework and are ready to write the paper," said the Sena minister.
State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and state NCP president Sunil Tatkare skipped the press conference. Bawankule was in Nagpur for PM Narendra Modi's programme, while Tatkare was in Raigad to attend the PM's online programmes.
Desai said Mahayuti is in no hurry to decide and declare a CM, and that leaders of the three allies would take a decision and then put it before the central leadership. Lad said the CM would be decided after the elections.
