Minor, his mother held for kidnapping 3-year-old boy
New Delhi: The desire for a male child drove a family to kidnap a 3-year-old boy from Central Delhi's Kamla Market. Police have nabbed four people, including their landlady and her teenaged son, for the crime.
On Oct 4, the boy, who was playing outside home, suddenly disappeared. After his parents approached police, officers from the Kamla Market police station quickly initiated an investigation and started scanning CCTV footage.

What emerged was alarming: Their landlady's 14-year-old son was seen leading the boy away towards Gandhi Market. Based on this information, he was apprehended. He confessed that he acted at the behest of his mother, Shama.
Investigators were taken aback to discover that Shama even accompanied the mother of the kidnapped child to the police station to file the missing complaint.
Further interrogation revealed that Shama wanted to fulfil the wishes of her sister-in-law, Naseem Jaira, who longed for a male child. Acting on his mother's instructions, the teenager took the child on a bus. The 3-year-old boy fell asleep in his lap, unaware of how worried his parents were back home. The boy was familiar with the landlord's family and would often play with the teenager, which made it easier for the teenager to lure the child, cops said.
