Kalayat Assembly Election Result 2024: Congress's Vikas Saharan leading in early trends

NEW DELHI: The counting of votes for election to Harayana's Kalayat assembly constituency has begin today.
As per the initial trends, the Congress is leading in 18 assembly seats followed by BJP on 8 and INLD 2.
Major parties
The major political parties contesting in the state are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) allied with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in partnership with the Azad Samaj Party.
Voter turnout
On October 5, the voter turnout for the 15th Haryana assembly general elections in 2024 was recorded at 67.90%. Sirsa district had the highest turnout at 75.36%, while Faridabad district had the lowest at 56.49%. Kaithal district saw a voter turnout of 72.36%.

Previous election results
Kamlesh Dhanda from the BJP won the Kalayat seat in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, securing 53,805 votes, while Jai Parkash from the INC received 44,831 votes.
