NEW DELHI: Chief minister and BJP candidate Nayab Singh Saini has won the constituency by a margin of 16,054 votes. Congress's Mewa Singh has lost the seat.
While Saini got a total of 70,177 votes, Singh received 54,123 votes.
Ladwa is a legislative assembly constituency in Haryana. The elections in Haryana were held on October 5, with vote counting scheduled for on October 8, 2024.
Ladwa, a constituency in Kurukshetra district, has become a focal point in the upcoming elections due to the candidacy of chief minister Nayab Singh Saini. As an OBC leader, Saini is engaged in a fierce contest against Mewa Singh from the Congress party and Sapna Barshami from the INLD.
The BJP suffered a defeat in this constituency in 2019. This loss has transformed Ladwa into a critical battleground for the ruling party, as they seek to regain their foothold in the region.
In the 2019 elections, Ladwa had 183,470 electors, with 137,763 valid votes cast.
Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Mewa Singh won the seat in 2019 with 57,665 votes, defeating
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Dr Pawan Saini, who secured 45,028 votes, by a margin of 12,637 votes.
