Kanpur: Bhavya Goyal's knock of 111 runs propelled
UP to a resounding victory over Delhi by 5 wickets in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy match held at SLIMS ground, Puducherry on Tuesday.
Putting into bat, Delhi scored a respectable total of 266 runs in their allotted 50 overs. In response, UP chased down the target, scoring 268 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, thereby clinching the match.
Bhavya Goyal and skipper Mohd Amaan were the architects of UP's triumph, stitching together a crucial 129-run partnership for the third wicket, with Amaan contributing 36 runs. Bhavya Goyal's innings was a display of sheer brilliance as he smashed 111 runs off just 107 deliveries, studded with 5 sixes and 12 boundaries. Akshu Bajwa and S Rai further solidified the chase with an unbeaten 67-run stand for the sixth wicket, with Akshu remaining unbeaten on 52 off a mere 25 balls, punctuated by 3 boundaries and 5 sixes.
Earlier, Delhi's captain Pranav Pant led from the front, crafting a sublime innings of 107 runs off 95 balls, embellished with 5 boundaries and 7 sixes.
