Thane, 8th October 2024: A fire erupted at a dairy products shop in Thane, Maharashtra, in the early hours of Tuesday, officials reported. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the shop was destroyed.
The fire started around 1:41 am at the establishment, situated near a school on Sabegaon Road in the Diva area, and quickly engulfed the entire premises, as confirmed by Yasin Tadvi, head of the Thane Municipal Corporation’s disaster management cell.
Following the alert, a prompt response came from fire department personnel, the regional disaster management team, power supply company representatives, and police. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 2:53 am, continuing cooling efforts until 3:40 am to avert any risk of reignition.
The shop, including its equipment and three refrigerators, was entirely lost in the fire. Authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident.
