NEW DELHI: Congress's Jassi Petawar is leading the Narnaund seat in
Haryana by 12,578 votes. Jassi is followed by
BJP's Captain Abhimanyu with 12,578 votes.
According to the data available on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, Jassi has secured 84,801 votes so far, while his closest opponent, BJP leader Captain Abhimanyu, has got 72,223.
According to EC trends available around 12.30 pm, the BJP was leading on 49 seats and the Congress on 35.
Independents were leading on four seats while the INLD and BSP were ahead on one seat each.
The 49th constituency of the Haryana legislative assembly, Narnaund, is situated in the Hisar district.
Major partiesThe major political parties contesting in the state are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (
INC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) allied with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in partnership with the Azad Samaj Party.
Key candidatesThe Haryana state election this year saw a total of 1,031 candidates, with Jind having the highest number at 72. Compared to previous elections, there was a decline in the number of women candidates, with only 101 women participating. The prominent candidates in the Narnaund constituency include Jassi Petwar (Congress), Capt. Abhimanyuy (BJP), Yogesh Gautam (JJP) and Ranbir Singh Lobhan (AAP).
Voter turnoutOn October 5, the voter turnout for the 15th Haryana assembly general elections in 2024 was recorded at 67.90%. Sirsa district had the highest turnout at 75.36%, while Faridabad district had the lowest at 56.49%. Kaithal district saw a voter turnout of 72.36%.
