Nagpur: Although the Commission is yet to announce the state assembly poll dates, the city is abuzz with election fervour. Union minister Nitin Gadkari and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra
Fadnavis are set to conduct the Bhoomi Pujan for various new projects worth over ₹1,000 crore on Wednesday.
A senior official from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's (NMC) Public Works Department revealed that key projects like the Intelligent and Integrated Traffic Management System (IITMS) and the Pora River Pollution Abatement will be inaugurated by both leaders.
This flurry of project announcements, coming just ahead of the assembly polls, is widely seen as a strategic move to woo voters. On October 5 and 6, Gadkari and Fadnavis had already inaugurated major projects such as the Kamptee Road double-decker flyover, Wadi Road flyover, a light and sound show at Ambazari Lake, fire stations in Wathoda and Pardi, and the revamped Devadiya Hospital.
