Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad city district education officer (DEO) recently issued a notice to Saint Mary's High School, a private institution located in the Ognaj area, regarding delay in processing scholarship applications.
The school was given time until Wednesday to explain the delay. Failure to do so could result in disciplinary action against them in accordance with regulations.
The DEO's office issued the notice after receiving complaints from parents about the delay in processing scholarship applications.
Following an investigation, the school was asked to justify why they should not face consequences for the delay. The notice also mentioned that since the portal for pre-matric scholarships on the Digital Gujarat Portal was currently active, any pending online scholarship forms for students from scheduled castes should be completed immediately.
Starting in the 2024-25 academic year, scholarship applications would only be processed at the school level if the biometric e-KYC based on Aadhaar was completed for students from scheduled castes. If any student experienced problems with their scholarship or was denied govt assistance, the school management and principal would be held accountable.
