Man, daughter pocket 4.5L for fake rly job
New Delhi: A resident of north-west Delhi has filed a police complaint alleging that he was cheated of Rs 4.5 lakh by a father-daughter duo who falsely promised to secure a railway job for his son.
The suspects allegedly created a fake result document and furnished a forged appointment letter to deceive the victim. No arrests have been made yet.
The victim of the fraud, who resides in Trinagar, filed a complaint alleging that the duo had exploited his trust as they were known to the complainant.
The father and daughter promised to get his son a job as a ticket collector in Indian Railways.
The complainant told the police that, to substantiate their claims, the accused presented fake appointment letters, medical certificates, and even created a fake online result.
The complainant paid the money in instalments, believing that his son would secure the job. However, when the job did not materialise, he realised that he had been duped.
"The accused allegedly used the money to lead a lavish lifestyle and even issued bad cheques to the complainant. Despite repeated requests, the accused refused to return the money," the complainant added.
The police have registered a case in this regard. Investigations are underway to apprehend the suspects.
