Kolkata: After the CBI filed its first charge sheet implicating only Sanjay Roy, the RG Kar victim’s father told TOI, “We still don’t know about the charge sheet filed by CBI, so I can’t make any comment on this matter. However, we have faith in the law and the CBI investigation.”
The victim’s parents had earlier announced an intention to launch a five-day sit-in outside their Sodepur residence during Durga Puja.
But on Monday, they clarified they would not be holding a formal demonstration. “Every year, a pandal was set up in front of our house for
Durga Puja, which my daughter organized herself. This year, there will be no puja. Instead, I’ve asked for a stage to be set up where we will sit during the puja days and meet whoever comes,” the victim’s father said. The victim’s mother said, “I’ve lost my daughter. Watching junior doctors protest brings me to tears. I feel like their mother too. I can’t just sit at home during puja. That’s why we’ve planned to set up this stage.”
