Lucknow: A tragedy was averted when an alert loco pilot stopped the train after spotting a heap of soil on the railway track near Raghuraj Singh station between Unnao and Dalmau junctions on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred around 8pm when the 04251 Rae-Bareli Junction-Raghuraj Singh passenger train was about to enter Raghuraj Singh railway station.
Station house officer, Kheeron, Devendra Bhadoria said, "The construction work of Ganga Expressway is underway near Raghuraj Singh railway station. Soil from an overloaded dumper fell on the track creating obstruction."
"Hindrance was removed from the track after receiving an alert from the loco pilot. Rail traffic resumed on the affected route after 8.20pm," a statement issued by the public relations office of the Lucknow division of Northern Railway said.
