T'puram: Minister V Sivankutty informed the house that the govt hasn't receive complaints from IT professionals in state regarding excess workload or mental harassment. He said there are various mechanisms under labour department for the welfare of people working in the unorganized sectors, including IT. Govt is aware of the excess workload and mental stress experienced by employees in some IT firms, he said.
After proper discussions in appropriate forums, govt will take a call on forming a state-level expert panel to ensure the mental and physical wellbeing of workers in unorganized sectors, including IT, he added.
Sivankutty said labour department was ensuring that IT employees received protection as per existing laws.
