New Delhi: Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the people of Haryana had rejected both Congress' dirty politics and AAP convener Arvind
Kejriwal who was attempting to deceive them while campaigning in the name of governance in Delhi and Punjab.
"On one side of Haryana is Kejriwal-governed Delhi, and on the other side, is Punjab. Despite pouring the proceeds from the liquor ‘scam' and both these govts' resources, Kejriwal still couldn't open the account for AAP in Haryana," Sachdeva said.
Kejriwal tried to sell Haryana the same false dreams of development as he did in Delhi and Punjab, but the people saw through and defeated him in such a way that he could compete only with NOTA, he claimed.
BJP parliamentarian Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said BJP's victory for the third consecutive term was a significant example of the triumph of development and public welfare policies. "The people of Haryana have risen above casteism and slapped narrow politics hard. Congress was dreaming of coming to power through dynastic and casteist politics, but the people of Haryana have shown that they do not want to break the pace and continuity of the progress that the country and the state have seen in the past 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," the South Delhi MP said.
Bidhuri claimed that while the people of Haryana did not let Kejriwal's opportunism and politics of lies work, "they also proved him to be corrupt". "Kejriwal said he had left the post of Delhi chief minister so that he could prove himself innocent in the court of the people. He kept asking for votes from the people on this issue during the campaign in Haryana. Still, the people have completely rejected AAP, which means that they do not believe he is honest," he said. "Now the same public opinion is going to come from the people of Delhi."
Leader of the opposition in Delhi assembly Vijender Gupta said Haryana had once again rejected the negative politics of Congress and shown unwavering faith in the double-engine govt and the leadership of PM Modi. Gupta said this mandate clearly indicated that the public's trust in the "hate-driven and power-hungry Congress" had eroded.
"Additionally, candidates of AAP, which has misled the people of Delhi with freebies, lost their deposits in Haryana," he said. People now prioritise development, not false promises and freebies, Gupta added. "This is why the candidates of AAP, which engages in politics of lies, deceit and hypocrisy, and is deeply entrenched in corruption, could not even secure enough votes to save their deposits," he alleged. The people of Haryana have exposed AAP, Gupta claimed.
