Girl accuses neighbour of kidnap, attempt to rape

Lucknow: A 20-year-old college student in the city accused her neighbour of sexual harassment and lodged a complaint against him at Krishnanagar police station.
She said the accused, along with his friend, kidnapped her while she was going to college and took her to his room and attempted to rape her.
She said she left home for college at 9 am on Monday and boarded an autorickshaw from Transportnagar.On the way, her neighbour Imran Khan and an unknown person got into the same auto and Imran made the auto driver change the route.
"When I protested, Imran gagged me with my dupatta and forcibly took me to his room, while the auto driver and the other man fled from the spot. In the room, he strangled me, while beating and molesting me," she stated in the FIR.
The girl student said that while he was talking to someone on the phone, she escaped and reached Krishnanagar police station to lodge the complaint.
Police said a case had been registered . "If the complaint is found true in the investigation, the accused will be arrested," said police .
The father of the accused is a head constable in the UP Police and currently posted in 112 PRV vehicle in Unnao.
SHO, Krishnannagar, P K Singh, said FIR was registered and a probe was being conducted.
It surfaced during the investigation that because of his drug addiction, Imran's family had turned him out of the house a few days ago, so he started living in a rented room in the city and to meet his expenses, he had started driving a battery rickshaw.
