NEW DELHI: Congress's Gokul Setia has defeated Haryana Lokhit Party's (HLP) Gopal Kanda by securing 79020. Kanda stood second with 71786 votes in his kitty.
Sirsa is one of the 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana, located in Sirsa district. In the 2024
Haryana Assembly elections, the voter turnout in Sirsa was recorded at 64%.
The key candidate from this constituency was Gokul Setia of the
Indian National Congress (INC), Gopal Kanda of the Haryana Lokhit Party along with other independent candidates.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, Gopal Kanda of the Haryana Lokhit Party narrowly defeated Gokul Setia, who ran as an independent, by a margin of 602 votes. The Sirsa constituency is part of the Sirsa Lok Sabha seat, where Kumari Selja of the INC won the 2024 parliamentary elections with a margin of 268,497 votes against Ashok Tanwar of the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
