New Delhi: The service on a section of Red Line was impacted on Tuesday morning, causing inconvenience to passengers during peak hours. Trains ran at a restricted speed from Welcome to Seelampur for over two and a half hours due to a signalling issue. Many commuters claimed that they reached their destinations late. On Monday, the operations were affected on Yellow Line.
"Train services on Red Line (Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda to Rithala) were regulated from 8.25am to 10.55am on Tuesday owing to a signalling issue.
As a result, trains ran at a restricted speed in this section during this period, resulting in the bunching of trains," said Anuj Dayal, principal executive director of corporate communications at
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Normal services were available on the rest of the line.
Ravi, a commuter who boarded the metro from Mansarovar Park metro station, said, "As the train moved at the restricted speed, it took longer than my usual time to reach Kashmere Gate. Even the metro was more crowded than usual." Aayush wrote on X, "It's gross…please we can't face this much delay." Another commuter, Sarvyasachi, wrote, "At least you should send related info messages to WhatsApp ticket holders via WhatsApp."
