NEW DELHI: The counting of votes for election to Haryana's Badli assembly constituency has begin today.
Badli Assembly constituency is part of the Rohtak (General) Lok Sabha constituency.
As per the initial trends, Congress's Kuldeep Vats is leading with 8823 votes against his nearest rival and BJP's Omprakash Dhankar.
Major partiesThe major political parties contesting in the state are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) allied with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in partnership with the Azad Samaj Party.
Key candidatesThe Haryana state election this year saw a total of 1,031 candidates, with Jind having the highest number at 72. Compared to previous elections, there was a decline in the number of women candidates, with only 101 women participating. The prominent candidates in the Badli constituency include Omprakash Dhankar (BJP), Kuldeep Vats (Congress).
Voter turnoutOn October 5, the voter turnout for the 15th Haryana assembly general elections in 2024 was recorded at 67.90%. Sirsa district had the highest turnout at 75.36%, while Faridabad district had the lowest at 56.49%. Kaithal district saw a voter turnout of 72.36%.
