MUMBAI: The Maharashtra cabinet meet, that was scheduled to be held late afternoon at Sahyadri state guest house in Mumbai was cancelled after chief minister Eknath Shinde called in sick.
Additionally, Shinde’s planned visit to Solapur, where he was set to participate in the Ladki Bahin program, has also been called off.
According to sources, Shinde’s illness is due to over-exertion from attending various Navratri events, including jagrans, over the past few days.
He has been advised to rest and is currently recuperating at his official residence, Varsha.
This meeting was anticipated to be the final cabinet session before the election code of conduct comes into effect.
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, speaking at the Ladki Bahin programme in Solapur, said, "CM Shinde has undergone an eye operation and therefore could not attend the event."
