Narnaund Assembly Election Result 2024: Congress's Jassi Petawar leads in early trends

NEW DELHI: Congress's Jassi Petawar leading in early trend of results. Jassi is followed by BJP's Capt. Abhimanyu with 841 votes.
According to EC trends available at 10 am, the BJP was leading in 43 seats and the Congress on 34, the first time the ruling party overtook the Congress after counting began at 8 am.
The counting of votes for all the 90 assembly seats began at 93 centres in 22 districts of the state amid tight security.
The 49th constituency of the Haryana legislative assembly, Narnaund, is situated in the Hisar district.
Major parties
The major political parties contesting in the state are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) allied with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in partnership with the Azad Samaj Party.
Key candidates
The Haryana state election this year saw a total of 1,031 candidates, with Jind having the highest number at 72. Compared to previous elections, there was a decline in the number of women candidates, with only 101 women participating. The prominent candidates in the Narnaund constituency include Jassi Petwar (Congress), Capt. Abhimanyuy (BJP), Yogesh Gautam (JJP) and Ranbir Singh Lobhan (AAP).
Voter turnout
On October 5, the voter turnout for the 15th Haryana assembly general elections in 2024 was recorded at 67.90%. Sirsa district had the highest turnout at 75.36%, while Faridabad district had the lowest at 56.49%. Kaithal district saw a voter turnout of 72.36%.

Voting and result date
The Haryana Assembly elections were conducted in a single phase on October 5, and the results are scheduled to be declared on October 8. The Election Commission had initially planned for the polls to be held on October 1 but later postponed the date.
