Ten arrested for assault in Kushinagar

Gorakhpur: On Monday, a scuffle broke out near the Bavli Chowk in the Kotwali Padrauna area when a group escorting an idol to Ganesh Patti was allegedly confronted by some locals near Chawni in Kushinagar.
The group faced verbal abuse, misbehavior, and physical assault. The scuffle between people of two communities became tense, prompting police action. Ten people involved in the altercation were detained and heavy police force was deployed in the area.An FIR has been lodged under relevant sections based on the complaint, and further legal action is being taken, police said. "We have deployed enough personnel to maintain law and order," said Ritesh Kumar Singh, Kushinagar additional superintendent of police. tnn
