Ludhiana: Sahnewal Police booked four persons, including two women, for fraudulently transferring ownership of a dead man’s land in their name. The accused produced an imposter, who posed as the owner of the land, before the sub-registrar. When the brother of the deceased came to know about it, he filed a police complaint. A case has been filed against Sandeep Kaur, her husband Avtar Singh, mother-in-law Sarabjit Kaur and nambardar Munshi Singh of Jandiali village.
The complainant, Harminder Singh of Kanaich village, brother of the deceased, Harjit Singh, said that Harjit, who owned two acres of agricultural land, died a few years ago.
The accused produced a man impersonating as Harjit Singh before the sub-registrar to transfer his land to Sandeep Kaur. Nambardar Munshi Singh identified the imposter as Harjit Singh. The accused are yet to be arrested. tnn
