3-year-old raped in Ranchi, accused held
Ranchi: A man identified as Anup Oraon has been arrested for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl from his neighbourhood in Ranchi district on Saturday. The girl is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city where doctors said her condition is out of danger. According to reports, Oraon is a physically challenged person and is unable to speak properly.

He is also addicted to alcohol.
Commenting on the incident, SP (rural) Sumit Agrawal said, “The accused is the girl’s neighbour. He took her to a nearby field to commit the crime. Police have sent Oraon to jail on Sunday.”
Police had found the girl bleeding and rushed her to a local hospital for treatment. Later, her medical examination was conducted at the local community health centre. A case under Section 66 (2) of the BNS, which is related to the rape of a girl below 12 years, and sections 4 (penetrative sexual assault) and 6 (punishment for penetrative sexual assault) of the Pocso Act against the culprit.
