Patna: Police arrested one Chhotu Kumar in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old youth from West Bengal, whose body was recovered from Bilthan village in the Barh sub-division of Patna district on September 30.
Abhishek Singh, the sub-divisional police officer II of Barh, disclosed on Sunday that the accused attempted to snatch the youth’s cellphone and pushed him.

“The youth fell on the ground and became unconscious. The accused ran away, leaving him and his mobile behind,” Singh said. Chhotu, a resident of Chauhan Tola in Raghopur under the Bakhtiyyarpur police station area, was arrested from Rajendra Nagar Terminal on Saturday, where he disclosed the entire matter during interrogation.
The police recovered the body of the youth, identified as Sanwar Hussain, son of Saifur Hussain from South Dinajpur, from an empty plot on September 30, where he had sustained a head injury.
They also found his identity card and a train ticket for the Farakka Express. Upon contacting his family, the police learned that the youth worked at a private firm in Delhi and was travelling from Delhi to Kolkata.
