Panchayat polls: DEO writes to schools
Ludhiana: District education officer (primary) has instructed all block primary education officers and all school heads of the district regarding the panchayat elections. Notably, the panchayat elections are scheduled on October 15 and the polling booths will be set up in all rural schools.
Ravinder Kaur, DEO primary in her circular said: “The polling parties will arrive on October 14 and the school heads are instructed to make arrangements on priority basis.

The room in the polling booth should be absolutely clean. There should not be dusty, soiled or cobwebs. If any luggage is lying in the booth room, it should be shifted to another room.”
The circular stated that bathrooms should be absolutely clean and there should be proper arrangement of drinking water.
The DEO said that since polling parties would stay in the booth at night, electricity supply had to be ensured. “Electric bulbs and tubelights should be arranged smoothly which should be in working condition,” the circular said.
The DEO warned of strict action if any complaint was received from any school in this regard.
