In debt, man dies by suicide
Chennai: A 33-year-old man died by suicide at his house in Senneerkuppam, Poonamallee, on Saturday. Police said he was depressed over his losses, which ran into several lakhs, in online trading.
The deceased was identified as Vinoth Kumar. He was an insurance agent and lived with his wife and one-year-old child, police said.
His wife had gone to a shop on Saturday when Vinoth took the extreme step.

Upon returning, she was shocked to see her husband dead and alerted her neighbours.
He was moved to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police investigation revealed that Vinoth Kumar had taken loans from various people to invest in online trading but suffered continuous losses. He had sold some of his property to repay debts but continued to trade, incurring further losses. On the day of the incident, a lender called Vinoth Kumar, demanding repayment of 15 lakh, and is said to have abused him. Police registered a case.
