Metro staffer denies entry to drunk youths, assaulted

Bengaluru: A group of four youths assaulted a Metro security staff member at Kadugodi Tree Park station Sunday evening.
The staffer said the incident happened around 6.30pm. The youths arrived at the station intoxicated and wanted to take a ride. As they were under the influence of alcohol, the staffer did not allow them to go through the checking point.
The youths got into an argument with the staffer, claiming there is no rule preventing them from boarding the train while drunk.They wanted to go to Majestic and then to Yeshwantpur to catch a train to their native Kalaburagi. In a fit of rage, the youths assaulted the staffer.
Kadugodi police arrested Mohammed Idris, 20, Madivalappa, 28, and Srishaila, 20, in connection with the case. Efforts are on to nab another accused identified as Viresh.
