Jaisalmer: Police in Jaisalmer solved the case of the murder of two young cousins, Adil (6) and Hasnain (7), who disappeared on Saturday evening in 12 hours. They apprehended two relatives, a young woman and a young man, engaged in an illicit relationship, who allegedly murdered the children after they accidentally witnessed the accused couple in a compromising situation.

The accused, the police said, abducted and brutally murdered the boys with a sharp weapon before disposing of their bodies in an abandoned tank.
SP Sudhir Chaudhary said certain individuals had deliberately delayed filing the FIR and conducting the post-mortem, while others maintained contact with the accused after the murder. These individuals will also face interrogation and prosecution according to the law.
The victims' families suspected foul play upon discovering the lifeless bodies in the deserted water tank, as the children had sustained severe injuries indicating homicide. They began a protest in front of the district hospital mortuary while the police initiated their investigation.
Chaudhary said district police swiftly investigated the murder by forming various teams to examine different angles. The accused, who are relatives of the deceased children, confessed to the murder during intensive interrogation, revealing that their motive was to prevent the exposure of their illicit relationship, which the children had accidentally witnessed.
This tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning, as two innocent lives were lost due to the heinous actions of those who sought to protect their own interests.
