Yes, I was using TP-Link USB to Ethernet Adapter for the WAN and the onboard RPi4 nic for LAN.

just few days back moved to GL Flint 2 which supports Openwrt out of the box.
 
Nice, i wanted a similar setup, but ended up getting a NanoPi 5c because it had 2 Gigabit ports. GLWS.
