NEW DELHI: Maharashtra deputy chief minister
Devendra Fadnavis praised Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Monday for exemplifying value-based politics.
Speaking to media in Nagpur, Fadnavis remarked on Modi's 23 years in public office, stating, "Modiji gave us an example of value-based politics. I feel all political leaders, irrespective of any party, should learn from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on how all these years, as chief minister and prime minister, the way he worked with a clean image."
In other news, there were questions about
BJP leader Harshvardhan Patil's potential move to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Fadnavis labeled it as old news. Patil had announced his intention to join
NCP (SP) on Friday, following a meeting with NCP chief
Sharad Pawar in Mumbai.
The state assembly elections are anticipated next month. Patil, a four-time MLA from Indapur, hopes to run for the seat again. The seat is currently held by BJP's alliance partner NCP, which is expected to field sitting MLA Dattatray Bharne.
Regarding the gathering of BJP workers at party offices ahead of the state polls, Fadnavis noted, "Whenever the elections are near, the number of those seeking tickets increases. We listen to what they want to say."
