Man dies after falling from first floor of under-construction house

Thiruvananthapuram: A 37-year-old man died after falling from the first floor of an under-construction house at Nemom on Saturday evening. The deceased, identified by police as Saju T, of Edakandam Veedu at Mulloor near Vizhinjam, was a carpenter by profession. He was fixing a window door when he slipped from the first floor of the house owned by one Mohanan of Chavinichivial Veedu at Estate Ward in Nemom.
The deceased sustained serious injuries to his head, neck, and backbone in the fall.He was initially rushed to a private hospital. After his condition turned critical, he was taken to the medical college hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Nemom police registered a case under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for unnatural death.
The body was cremated at his house after a postmortem at the medical college hospital. He leaves behind his wife, Soumya, 32, and two daughters, Souparnika, 5, and Sourabhya, 3.
