New traffic plan in Gaya for festival
Gaya: The district administration on Saturday announced the traffic route plan with earmarking of parking slots for vehicles at different places to avoid traffic jams during the Durga Puja festival in the town.
As per the plan, entry of all types of vehicles will be restricted on G B Road and the Ramna Road from 6am to 3am from October 9 to 13. Vehicular movement towards Kedarnath Market and Peer Mansoor Road from the collectorate roundabout will also be restricted from 1pm to 3am.
“The parking area of Gaya railway station premises has been identified for parking of light vehicles coming from Chakand-side.

Vehicles coming from Muffassil will be parked at Azad Park. Gaya College playground has been identified as parking place for vehicles coming from Delha, Tekari and Sikaria Mor-side. Vehicles coming from Koiri Bari, Chand Chauraha, Nutan Nagar and Kashinath Mor will be parked at Zila school ground,” said senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ashish Bharti, in a press statement, on Saturday.
The SSP said that entry of pick-up vans and other goods carriers in Gaya town would be restricted from Ramshila Mor onwards from 1pm to 6am. Heavy vehicles would not be allowed go towards Kirani Ghat from Muffassil Mor between 6am to 3am. At the same time one-way entry on different routes will strictly be followed to avert traffic congestion,” he added.
