Govt service portal marks its 3rd anniversary
Guwahati: Sewa Setu (https://sewasetu.assam.gov.in), Assam govt’s public service delivery portal, will mark its 3rd anniversary on Monday.
This transformative initiative that has revolutionized public service delivery in the state was launched on Oct 7, 2021, initially offering 47 services under the World Bank-financed Assam Citizen-Centric Service Delivery Project (ACCSDP).

The portal has since expanded to provide 632 services from 47 govt departments, agencies and three autonomous councils under the Sixth Schedule.
“This expansion underscores the Assam govt’s unwavering commitment to digital governance, improving access to essential services for citizens across the state. Over its three years of operation, Sewa Setu has processed over 1.46 crore applications, successfully disposing of 1.4 crore with a 90% disposal rate, and has addressed 89,290 grievances with an 86% resolution rate,” a spokesperson said.
“The impact of Sewa Setu on citizen convenience and governance is substantial. Citizens can submit applications, track progress, and receive services digitally, significantly reducing the need for physical visits to govt offices,” the spokesperson stated.
Sewa Setu has also brought significant cost and time savings for both citizens and govt as the digital-first approach has minimized paperwork, travel, and delays traditionally associated with govt services, allowing citizens to access essential services from their homes.

Moving forward, the Assam govt envisions further integration of mobile governance tools to make services even more accessible. This proactive approach will ensure that Sewa Setu continues to evolve, delivering on its mission of empowering citizens and strengthening governance, the spokesperson stated.
