Patna: A 40-year-old land broker was arrested Saturday for allegedly shooting a mobile shop owner over a monetary dispute in the Danapur area, adjacent to Patna.
The arrested accused has been identified as Parichit Sharma. The police are carrying out raids to zero in on the second accused, Rupesh Kumar.
The incident occurred Friday around 10.30pm when the victim, Karan Kumar (24), dropped off his staff member at Saguna Mor.
According to the police, the attackers, who were on a bike, pumped a bullet into Kumar’s chest and fled. The staff member informed the police, who rushed Kumar to the hospital, where he was declared ‘brought dead.’
Prashant Kumar Bhardwaj, SHO of Danapur police station, said, “The motive behind the crime was a dispute over a Rs 6 lakh transaction. Kumar had lent Rs 6 lakh to the accused, who repeatedly failed to repay the amount despite numerous requests. The two had recently engaged in a heated argument over the issue.
