Yogi Adityanath has said that the 2025 Maha Kumbh will set the standard for cleanliness, safety, security and convenience, and directed the officials to complete all preparations and projects by Dec 10.
During his visit to Prayagraj, the CM held a meeting to review preparations and launched the logo, website, and mobile application of 2025 Maha Kumbh.
"Uttar Pradesh had set a standard by successfully organizing Kumbh in 2019. Therefore, this time, people's expectations from the state govt are much higher. The mela premises will expand to an area of over 4,000 hectares as compared to 3,200 hectares in 2019."
He also said that the 2025 Maha Kumbh would be a great opportunity to introduce the world to the eternal Indian culture. Yogi said that over 7,000 buses would be deployed, and more than 1.5 lakh toilets would be installed in and around the mela premises.
Focusing on cleanliness, he directed officials that 10,000 employees should be roped in for the purpose. He assured that the flow of the Ganga and the Yamuna would be clean and uninterrupted during the Maha Kumbh. He also instructed the officials to prepare the steel bridge by the first week of Dec to facilitate arrival of visitors from Kanpur, Lucknow, Barabanki, and Ayodhya to Prayagraj. He asked officials to make a VVIP corridor from the airport to the mela area but added that there should be no VIP movement on main bathing festivals.
To enhance security and safety, the CM said that three police lines, three women police stations, and 10 police posts would be set up in the mela area. He also instructed police officials to respect the faith of every devotee and behave well with everyone. "Be it Kalpvasi, devotee, or tourist, everyone's safety and convenience should be taken care of," he said, adding that the behaviour of the police should be cooperative" he added.
He said that officials should focus on crowd management, fire service, help desks, parking, and CCTV.
He added that an anti-drone system would also be installed in the mela area and security models should be prepared with AI tools.
Meanwhile, the CM directed officials and the Kumbh Mela administration to interact with Akharas and seers and fulfil their expectations. He said home stays should be encouraged in Prayagraj as it would provide employment to local people.
"New GRP stations are needed for security, and vigilance will have to be increased. There should be better coordination between UP Police and the railways. Police officials should undertake a verification exercise of tenants, restaurant workers, and e-rickshaw drivers from a security point of view," he said.
