Sessions court to decide on Maloo’s bail, custody tomorrow
Nagpur: The Ram Jhula accident case hearing is set to continue on Monday in different sessions courts to decide the fate of key accused, Ritika Maloo, who's currently lodged in Nagpur Central Prison. Despite the high court's order for an expeditious probe, the case continues to drag in lower courts.
On Saturday, sessions judge SU Hake heard the arguments of additional public prosecutor Rashmi Khaparde, who was assisted by advocate Amol Hunge, during the hearing on revision plea filed by the prosecution seeking police custody remand of Maloo.

The revision was filed after the magistrate rejected police custody remand plea filed by State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following Maloo's dramatic midnight arrest last month.
On February 25 this year, Maloo had mowed down two youngsters on Ram Jhula flyover while driving her black Mercedes. She was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Even after 224 days, Maloo's custodial interrogation has not been conducted.
In another court, sessions judge RS Patil-Bhosale will hear bail application filed by Maloo's defence lawyer, Chandrashekhar Jaltare, on Monday. The prosecution has moved an application before the court stating it intends to oppose the bail plea on grounds that Maloo's release from prison may adversely affect the case.
