Karan Johar Defends Vasan Bala Over Script Misunderstanding for ‘Jigra’

Filmmaker Karan Johar has publicly addressed the recent comments made by Vasan Bala regarding the unfinished script of their upcoming film, Jigra. In an Instagram post on Sunday, Karan described Vasan’s remarks as “pure innocence and so much love,” emphasizing his respect for the director as one of his most talented collaborators.

The confusion arose when Vasan, in a recent interview with Tried&Refused Productions, expressed displeasure over Karan forwarding his roughly drafted script to Alia Bhatt without proper editing. Karan responded to this misunderstanding by sharing a reflective post, humorously noting how social media often distorts reality. It was noted that “the misinterpretation of his comment about sending the script to Alia without his grammar checks made him laugh initially… but now it’s truly annoying.”

It was recounted by Vasan that a rough email was sent to Karan, only to be informed that it had already reached Alia. Alia, in the same interview, shared her eagerness for the complete script, stating that, “one month was spent chasing him for the second half, and then it came together.”

Set to hit theaters on October 11, Jigra stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina as siblings in a gripping narrative centered around a daring prison break, showcasing a sister’s unwavering dedication to her brother. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film is generating significant buzz ahead of its release.
