Rlys to run special trains for festivals
Bhubaneswar: Railways will run puja special trains to different destinations across the country to cater to the increased passenger demand during Durga Puja and Diwali. These services will continue till the last week of next month.
As many as 27 pairs of special trains are operating to different destinations from the East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction. Additionally, 14 special trains will pass through stations under ECoR, enhancing connectivity and easing the burden on regular train services during this high-demand period, according to an official statement.
Altogether 1,134 trips of these special trains will be operational during the festive season.

Special trains are departing from Bhubaneswar to Dhanbad and Yesvantpur, from Puri to Patna, Nizamuddin, Udhna (Surat), Kolkata, Gwalior, Santragachhi, Shalimar, and Bhanjapur (Baripada), from Sambalpur to Erode, from Berhampur to Nanded, Secunderabad, Surat, and from Cuttack to Hyderabad. Railways asked passengers to stay updated about the special trains.

Special trains between Madurai and Kanpur
To accommodate the increased passenger flow during Diwali and Chhath festivals, Railways announces special weekly trains between Kanpur Central and Madurai. Departing from Kanpur on Wednesdays and returning from Madurai on Fridays, these trains feature multiple stops, with advance reservations opening at 8am on Tuesday.
