Ambala: Former
Haryana home minister Anil Vij,
BJP candidate for the Ambala Cantonment assembly seat, clarified to the media on Saturday after voting at booth 136 in Shastri Colony that he had never staked claim to the chief minister’s post but if the party liked, they “could meet at the CM’s residence”.
Vij claimed people of Ambala had rejected “goondagardi” (hooliganism) and “badmashi” (rowdyism), and of his opponents, one was a notorious producer of adulterated desi ghee and another infamous for running flesh trade, “which makes their agenda clear”.
He called upon voters to defeat both Nirmal Singh of
Congress and independent rebel candidate Chitra Sarwara for peace in Ambala.
Condemning the Congress, he referenced statements from HP’s Congress chief about growing cannabis and linked former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s son to a major drug bust.
