Compounder shot at during clash in S’pur

Patna: A 28-year-old compounder sustained a gunshot injury during a clash between staff of two private health facilities on the IB Road under Dalsinghsarai police station area in Samastipur district in the wee hours of Saturday. Hariom Kumar, with injury in his right thigh, was admitted to Sadar hospital for treatment.
According to police, the clash broke out between staff of Vishnu Hospital and Balaji Hospital, operating on the same campus, over the issue of admitting patients.The victim was sitting with his colleagues in their private hospital, when four armed staff of the neighbouring hospital barged into the rival health facility and started beating up the employees. Amid the chaos, one of the accused pulled his gun out and shot at Hariom. He was taken to the sub-divisional hospital, from where he was referred to the district hospital. “On being informed, a police reached the spot and recovered an empty bullet shell. The statement of the victim has been recorded and appropriate action will be taken against the accused. The victim has identified two persons who assaulted him,” said Dalsinghsarai DSP Vivek Kumar Sharma.
SHO of Dalsinghsarai police station, Rakesh Kumar Ranjan, said Hariom accused Mukesh Kumar, Sushil Kumar and two unidentified persons for opening firing at him. “The police are conducting raids to nab the accused,” he added.
