Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stones of various initiatives of over Rs 32,800 crore including the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project and Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension. PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project at an event in Thane. He also inaugurated the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 costing around Rs 14,120 crore. This section will have 10 stations, of which 9 will be underground.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday dismissed National Conference leader Omar Abdullah's allegations regarding a proposal to task the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir with altering the transaction of business rules to reduce the powers of the elected Chief Minister and transfer them to the Lieutenant Governor. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation, ensuring India clearly communicates its position. "I believe we can expect Jaishankar to be his usual, assertive self. India will firmly present its views. While this is a meeting of heads of state, the Prime Minister's absence reflects a deliberate downgrading. It's significant that Jaishankar is attending, but it's clear that we haven't accorded the event the same priority, considering Pakistan's behaviour," Sachdev said.

AAP leaders detained while protesting near LG house over bus marshal issue
At least 27 people, including AAP workers and Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, were detained from near Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's residence in north Delhi on Saturday while they were protesting over the issue of bus marshals, officials said. A police officer said that they were detained as they were not having the permission for the protest and taken to a police station. They will be released soon, he added.
