Thane, 3rd October 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Thane on Saturday, October 5. During his visit, he will be accompanied by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis. The PM will attend the Ladaki Bahin Yojana event at Kasarvadavli in Thane City, which is the political base of CM Shinde. Given the proximity of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections in 2024, the visit is expected to have significant political implications and attract a large crowd.
In preparation for PM Modi’s visit, Thane City Police have announced traffic diversions and restrictions, effective from Thursday, October 3.
Traffic Restrictions and Diversions in Thane
According to an official post by Thane Police on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), parking will not be permitted on the following roads during the PM’s visit:
– Service road from Thane Station to Ghodbunder Road
– Road from D-Mart to Titan Hospital
– Route from Ovala to Waghbil Naka
Additionally, the police will maintain a one-way traffic system on these roads.
Road Closures
The service road from Titan Hospital to D-Mart will be closed to all vehicles, which will be halted at Titan Hospital.
Alternate Route: To travel from Titan Hospital to D-Mart, motorists can use the main road from the Ovala signal, passing through Kasarvadavli, Anand Nagar, and Waghbil Road.
Vehicles will not be allowed to travel from Waghbil Naka to Ovala via the service road and will be stopped at the Waghbil Naka signal.
Alternate Route: For those travelling from Waghbil Naka to Anand Nagar and Kasarvadavli, the suggested route is via TJSB Chowk and the Children’s Traffic Park.
To reach Ovala from Waghbil Naka, motorists can take the main road below the Waghbil bridge.
No Parking Zones
No parking will be allowed on the service road from Titan Hospital to D-Mart, as well as from Waghbil Naka to Anand Nagar Naka.
