Alia Bhatt is ready to make her producing debut with her major role in Vasan Bala’s upcoming action-thriller Jigra. Although the actress was thrilled to be on the team, the director was a little let down when Karan Johar sent her the rough cut of the movie.

In an interview with Tried & Refused Productions, Alia Bhatt discussed how Karan Johar actively helped introduce her to Jigra.  According to Alia, they talked about the kind of movie they would like to make, and it’s likely that Bala had ideas about the actors he wanted to work with. To this, the director stated: “No.”

Vasan described how, six or seven hours after sending a highly “kachha pakka email, stream of consciousness thoughts” to Karan, the latter called to let him know that he had forwarded it to Alia. Bala said, “I was really not happy with it.” He could have written a really beautiful hero entry or checked his grammar, spelling, and cleanliness if he had known the actress would be receiving the email.

“That email was sent and I asked Karan ‘Why did you do this?’ He said ‘No, no this is how it works. Then he said we’ll meet in a couple of days,” the writer shared.

After giving birth to Raha, a month later, Alia and Bala got together to talk about the plot. However, because he didn’t have the second part ready with him, Vasan Bala made the climax while traveling to meet her when Johar instructed him to tell the narrative during their meeting.
